My year as Miss Birmingham so far has been the best experience of my life, and having the honour to meet so many people and help so many charities. I have had once in a life time opportunities and so many more to come before I had over my crown on the 27th April.
Working with charities such as the Princes Trust, the QEHB Charity, St Marys Hospice, the Birmingham Children’s Hospital, Acorns Hospice just to name a few – I have been so humbled by the work they do and the selfless time they spend helping others.
I feel that I have developed so much over my year, and have found the confidence to stand on stage to thousands of people, be on national radio and television, as well as meeting the Birmingham Mayor and being pride of place in the infamous Birmingham Parade.
All of this wouldn’t have happened if I hadn’t applied for Miss Birmingham. I lacked the confidence and never thought I would ever get through to the finals, let alone win the competition and go on to the Miss England Finals. I will always remember this year and endeavour to take so much from it – helping communities and others as much as I can even when I am the former Miss Birmingham.
