That's why I have asked my 'left to my right', my best friend, Henrietta to run the full London Marathon with me on the 13th April. Having the support and the motivation to help each other get through the over 4 hours of running would be incredible. In addition we have the amazing opportunity to raise money for such a wonderful charity, the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham Charity (QEHB Charity; http://www.qehb.org/) that has touched both our lives and would mean so much of your support.
Running 26.2 miles will be a challenge; mentally and physically, but pushing ourselves to the limit for a charity that does this every day for patients in their care is an honour.
The charity itself focuses on supporting patients, providing help and support to individuals and their families in difficult times, being there at every moment and caring in any way they can. Further to this they provide fundamental equipment and facilities and fund life changing research, all of which are over and above core NHS services. No donations made to the QEHB Charity are used to replace core NHS funding. Lastly, the charity also supports the UK’s military patients who are treated at the Royal Centre for Defence Medicine, and have recently funded a 'home away from home' for families to stay when visiting patients in their care. To continue with this work, they rely considerably on the generous support of individuals and fundraising of the unsung heroes of the community.
Please, donate anything you can; £1 to £100, every little helps to change the lives of patients going through such difficult times and support their loved ones.
