
Birmingham Pype Hayes Park Fireworks 2013
What an event, what a show! To say it went off with a bang is an understatement.
The Birmingham City Council fireworks were absolutely incredible and having the chance to do the countdown and launch on stage with Russ Morris from Free Radio was so much fun.
Getting to the stage, we were ushered to meet the Free Radio team. I have to tell you they were some of the most genuine and lovely people you will every meet. Being with the team for even the couple of hours of the show, seemed like the most fun you could possibly have at 'work'. I am sure the hard work and effort put in to behind the scenes is phenomenal, but the team were so relaxed and welcoming I wanted to give them my CV immediately!

Free Radio Fireworks
As Russ introduced me and welcomed me on stage, the crowd applaused me and I felt so happy to be part of such a core event in the city.
Chatting about my journey as Miss Birmingham 2013 to the audience it was lovely to talk more about what is to come, and to promote my twitter to the eager crowd (@missbham2013).
After a small introduction, 8pm came way too soon, and it was time for the fireworks countdown.
10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1..... FIREWORKS!
The fireworks were absolutely brilliant, and so perfectly timed with the Disney themed music!
With the staged blacked out as the fireworks were lighting up the Birmingham skyline, it gave Russ, myself and the crew the chance to have a dance and a sing to the music (I didn't realise how much Disney I knew!)
After the fireworks we had a bit more of a catch up on stage and then I made my adieus to make way for more Free Radio Fun!
It was a truly brilliant night and the crowd thoroughly enjoyed all the fireworks, the music, and the competition. I would like to thank Birmingham City Council for letting me come to help, and Free Radio for the chance to be on stage.
