I am honoured to have won the Young Achiever of the Year award tonight at the Birmingham Awards. For years I have always wanted to do more within my community and for various organisations. Without a sense of direction I didn't really know where to start. The ethos I live by is that the meaning of life is the interactions and experiences we have with each other. These interactions shape each other's lives and all it takes is one action or gesture to have a huge impact on another person.
I for sure want to make this positive. Mr Birmingham and Mr England gave me a platform and an opportunity to pursue this and actively try to make a difference and promote change for causes close to my heart. It gave me the confidence and self belief to drive forwards. 'Be the change you wish to see in the world' is something I am living by. The work that I am doing isn't a task but a real privilege. I think the most amazing thing about having this opportunity is the impact you can have. I hope I can make a difference and inspire a movement for a better Birmingham and a better world where compassion and all forms of equality are no longer 'choices' but expectations. I am absolutely ecstatic to have won. I'm honestly still in shock even now. Thank you to every single person who has supported me and believed in me. Hopefully, this will be another driving force in enabling me to achieve my dreams!
Welcome to Birmingham!
