Hayley Farmer, who lives in Crabbs Cross, is able to enter the competition as she was born in Sandwell, despite having lived in Redditch for 14 years and attending RSA Academy Arrow Vale and Walkwood Middle School.
The 24-year-old, who works at Broad Lane Leisure in Alcester, will compete for the Miss Black Country crown on May 22 at Dudley’s Copthorne Hotel.
It is Hayley’s first time entering a beauty pageant, and said: “I’ve always wanted to be Miss England and came across the regional heats but I’ve been trying to get up the courage to enter.
“I would love to be an ambassador for the area and a role model for people to look up to.”
